DR. WARREN BECKER
Dr. Warren E. Becker is an experienced Bible teacher in Thomasville, Georgia. Dr. Becker holds a Bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (with a Biblical Studies major) from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, California).
Dr. Becker first served as Director of Education and Administrative Assistant for United Evangelical Churches, a Christian service organization, for 21 years and has most recently worked in the business world as a real estate legal assistant for the law firm of Silvis, Ambrose, Lindquist & Coch in Thomasville, Georgia for 26 years. He was also a Visiting Professor for the Thomasville, Georgia Extension Center of the American Baptist College, Nashville, Tennessee, from 1991 through 2007. For many years he has taught Bible classes in a variety of churches as well as home groups. He is now serving as the Dean of the International School of Theology and Leadership, Thomasville, Georgia.
Dr. Becker’s passion is to teach God’s Word in simple, understandable, and meaningful ways with a special view to helping people better understand how God has designed and gifted them and how to effectively use their God-given gifts in all areas of life.
Key Scriptures that form part of Dr. Becker’s passion include Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 12:4-8, 1 Peter 4:10-11, and Ephesians 4:11-16.
His heart’s desire to teach God’s Word and serve extends to at least the following target groups:
- to train young people for a meaningful life of ministry and service to the Lord;
- to train local church support staff and church members how to better use their God-given grace-gifts so that a much higher percentage of local church members will actively use their God-given grace-gift(s) in the church and in their daily lives and more will become true disciple makers;
- to train pastors and ministry leaders from Third World countries who have limited training opportunities in their own countries how to understand God’s Word and God’s mission and how to be effective in ministry for the Lord.
Dr. Becker has been happily married to his wife Jean for 46 years, and they have two children: Tim, who is married and is a Senior Service Manager of River, Environment & GIS Solutions for the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, Tennessee; and a daughter, Janice, who is currently Sea Turtle Program Coordinator for the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve on St. George Island, Florida.
